About Them: Isabella "Bella" Marie Swan, later Isabella Marie Cullen, is an average, clumsy, accident-prone girl who moves from Phoenix, Arizona, to Forks, Washington, to live with her father, Charlie. Though many boys are attracted to her when she arrives, she falls in love with Edward Cullen, a mysterious boy she discovers to be a vampire. Desperate not to lose him, Bella vows to stay with Edward, even if it means turning into a vampire herself, despite Edward's wishes. In an effort to keep her safe, he leaves the town of Forks. Jacob Black, a werewolf from the Quileute tribe and the son of Bella's father's best friend, comforts her in that time and Bella falls in love with him as well.
Bella is described as an understanding, caring, serious, shy, and intelligent person, with a very dry sense of humor, and is noted for being very clumsy, and also stubborn. She has a very private mind, which is thought to be why Edward is unable to see her thoughts, and she is determined to become a vampire. She is also said to be terrible at lying, but occasionally demonstrates good acting ability. Bella becomes faint at the smell of blood, though this does not bother her once she becomes a vampire — this trait may also be the reason why Bella does not hunger for blood as strongly as most newborn vampires.
After Bella is changed into a vampire by Edward Cullen in Breaking Dawn, she becomes very beautiful-her already pale skin becoming even whiter, her hair becoming darker, and her lips becoming fuller. After her transformation she has the ability to shield her and others' minds from mental attacks. With her newfound ability, it is also discovered that Bella is incredibly self-controlled, much to the astonishment of the whole Cullen family-mostly Jasper. Bella learns to remove the shield from her own mind with the help of Kate, another vampire, and surprises Edward one night with all of her thoughts he has always missed out on.
Bella is described in the novels as being pale-skinned with brown hair and eyes, and a heart shaped face. Beyond this, a detailed description of her appearance is never given in the series. Stephenie Meyer explains that she "left out a detailed description of Bella in the book so that the reader could more easily step into her shoes." While Meyer stresses that "Bella's looks are open to interpretation", she does supply her own personal interpretation on her website, describing Bella as: "very fair-skinned, with long, straight, dark brown hair and chocolate brown eyes. Her face is heart-shaped—a wide forehead with a widow's peak, large, wide-spaced eyes, prominent cheekbones, and then a thin nose and a narrow jaw with a pointed chin. Her lips are a little out of proportion, a bit too full for her jaw line. Her eyebrows are darker than her hair and more straight than they are arched. She's five foot four inches tall, slender but not at all muscular, and weighs about 115 pounds. She has stubby fingernails because she has a nervous habit of biting them." Stephenie Meyer has stated that Bella's "tragic flaw" in Eclipse is her lack of self-knowledge. After being turned into a vampire, she describes having a more clear view of the world.

OMG! Twilight is soooooooo amazing. I think the books are like 10 times better than the movie but movie is still fabbity fab. I really like the characters but I don't know if I lke Rob P - something (can't remember last name) I like Edward a lot more. But Rob still is a really good acter. I think Bella did a bad job of being in love with Edward in the movie Twilight, I've read all the books and I just felt she had more passion in the books, and just was akward in the movie.
I also forgot to mention, I think that the movie wasn't nearly as great as the book. And they shared more physical love and just were alot more passionate toward eachother. Don't get me wrong, I actaually own and LOVE the movie. But I feel that the movie left out ALOT that was in the book, and I also think if it be possible they should take this into consideration and make New Moon like a 3/4 hour movie since the book is so long and interesting and just great, and mindbotteling. I think they should make it as long as possible and not leave out anything; because compared to the book Twilight I was very, very, very disapointed in the movie Twilight. But I think it was magnificent, the actors were just really akward also, but I love Kristen still. But I think it was GREAT, I'm so so so happy somebody finally made a book like this one; I myself love writing, but I would never had dreamed of a book/ movie as magnificent or great as Twilight, I loved it.

I think Kristen Stweart did a horrible, horrible, terrible, akward, made-fun of job as being Bella Swan, I am very very sorry. I felt like she did okay in parts... but she just didn't have the love, that Robert seemed to be showing and not Kristen as charectors. I think... I loved it, I just really hate the fact it's so akward and it kind of changed my outlook on the rest of the novels that I read. I'm at the very end of Breaking Dawn, and I wish REALLY bad REALLY REALLY REALLY bad that Stephanie Myer would PPLLEEAASSEE write more, it's so great. I wish you would write 304530538 more, until you can't ever write again. It's so great, it's unbelivable.

i was looking at some of these comments and i looked up Emily Browning, and i have to admit she would have been a great Bella. But i have a better idea. Kristen should stay the human Bella but Emily should be the vampire Bella because no offense to anybody, but i think Emily is prettier and vampires are suppose to be unhumanly beautiful. Take the prettier girl for the prettier role :) (remember Kristen: smokers are gross and every day you smoke, you take a day off of your life....but its your life i guess)Make the 2nd movie better cuz the first one sucked compared to the book. and i compare all the movies to the books.

i am so a twilight fan. im just loopy right now, but i will be okay sooner or later.
I've always live Kristen/Kstew, I've been a fan ever since Panic Room, and its never going to change, despite the stuff that may be displayed on the media, I believe she's one of the fewest wholesome-down to earth women in the business. I love her as an actress and as a person! I've watched some of her interviews and she's great. Many people don't like her as Bella at all but I disagree. I've read all the books and really analyzed my perception of who and what she is/should be. I honestly tried imagining someone else as "Bella Cullen" but I can't, there's something about Kristen that she delivers when she's portraying Bella, she doesn't make the character too doughy eyed, it really isn't a positive message to girls. She let's Bella become this strong yet hopelessly devoted romantic to her true loves. Kristen is a strong actress/woman!!! She's ace!

omgomgomgomgomgomgomgomg!!!! I love Twilight and everything about it. I love all the characters, especially Alice, Edward and Jacob. The only character I don't like is Bella and that's only because I'm jealous of her! I think it would be so cool if you had a Vampire as a boyfriend who would die for you, and a best friend who was a werewolf who would also die for you. Aaarrrggghhh, I'm so jealous! I also think it would be awesome if you had a giant werewolf (in wolf form) to cuddle and stroke and stuff, it would totally rock!! I loved the books and kristen was okay as bella, she has improved in new moon greatly. but kristen and robert both need to get professional coaching for interviews..they suck if they dont have a scrpt. they cant even converse with people coherently
