According to the Hollywood Reporter the premiere of Nurse Jackie, starring New Moon's Peter Facinelli went past expectations. In fact, so many people tuned in to watch...wonder if it was because of the yummy Peter Facinelli?
"Showtime is giving a second season order to Nurse Jackie after the Edie Falco drama became Showtime’s most-watched series premiere ever Monday night.
Jackie was seen by 1 million viewers, then gathered another 350,000 watchers during its same-night repeat for a total of 1.35 million viewers. That surpasses the prior same-night series premiere record holder, Secret Diary of a Call Girl, which opened to about 950,000 viewers last year.
In one of its characteristic early pickup moves, Showtime decided to order another 13 episodes of Jackie based on the overnight numbers. Jackie also scored positive reviews overall..."
