Not only has New Moon dominated through its midnight showing numbers (it took in $26.3 million from midnight screenings alone), but Fandango reports that its release yesterday (November 20) was the biggest in box office history EVER! ...taking in $72.7 million and beating out, once again, The Dark Knight, which had grossed $67.2 million on its opening day.
Fandango comments: If "New Moon" maintains its pace, it might have a shot at the all-time best opening weekend record of $158.4 million, also held by "The Dark Knight."
