Character Profile Comments

Taylor Lautner New MoonTwilightBlog.net-ers,

Recently, many of you have decided to make comments on our character profiles. This is not a problem; quite frankly, we encourage user comments.

However, many of the comments are virtually identical. And inane.
Robert Pattinson New Moon
Yes. We know you think Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner are "so hot." You most likely found this website because you searched for pictures of them. They are movie stars in blockbuster films. Of course they are attractive individuals.

This next part may come as a shock to most of you: They more than likely do not read this website. I'm sorry. They will not see when you type, "I want you. u r so hot. I want to have your children. I watched you sleep last night."

Another tip: read the other comments before you post. Posting a positive point of view about their physical appearance has been done over and over again. Try and think of something original and thought out. I know you can do it. Robert and Taylor both go for the girls with brains. It's true. If you feel as if you want to impress them, don't just babble on about their looks. They hear that all the time. Good luck, ladies, in winning a Twilight star.

Rob Pattinson Taylor Lautner

Muscle Man Taylor

Taylor Lautner, who plays Jacob Black in the Twilight Saga is ready to prove doubters wrong. Worried about Taylor not physically fitting the part of Jacob as a werewolf in New Moon, fans and critics said he needed to go. Lautner has not remained idle towards these concerns.

In fact, his mission has been to become the best possible candidate for Jacob Black. Taylor has been hitting the gym regularly to bulk up and put his younger boyish days behind him. Now at over 30lbs of added muscle to his once smaller frame, Launter as Jacob Black is ready to take on the mind reading vampire of Edward Cullen.

"The quote I love the most is Jacob's quote, 'Does my being half-naked bother you?'" says Lautner. "That quote cracks me up! Because you know, that's when he's shirtless, not wearing a top - we'll have to wait to see what he looks like."

Just in case you don't remember the old almost scrawny Taylor Lautner here is a comparison for you. Now, now tell us that isn't a difference.

Slightly older video when Lautner had only gained 20lbs.

Tokyo Premiere

Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, and Taylor Lautner met with screaming fans on the 27th during the premier of Twilight in Japan at Ebisu Garden Place. Fans waited for hours in the snow and sleet to see the hott new stars. Their patience was rewarded as Rob graciously agreed to sign autographs and take pictures with the fans.

After the premier RPatz went and relaxed with fellow actor Hugh Jackman who was also in Tokyo promoting his movie, Australia. The two apparently went and did some karaoke at a local pub near their hotel.

The premier was also Kristen's first since the fiasco about turning down her slot to present at the Oscars with a quote from her father that stated her feelings: "when it’s a great movie, not just one that makes a lot of money."

Ouch.

Okay, okay. There are always two sides to a story. So 1) Kristen could actually not like Twilight. Then again, this is a job for her. She doesn't have to like it. Or, maybe she doesn't obsess over Twilight and when she doesn't act like that fans backlash and take things to an extreme with that she hates it and is ungrateful. or 2) maybe the comment refers to that Kristen is disappointed that critics didn't find it to be the best new film. If you work hard at something you want it to succeed in something more than the teenage girl corner and $$.

Besides, Robert has said some awkward-weird comments about Twilight as well. Where is the scorn for him? Where is the hate?

Pattinson Parties All Night Long!

When it comes to partying, Mr. Pattinson doesn't seem to have any limits! Robert Pattinson, the New Moon actor, at least feels that when he is partying it must be from ‘Twilight’ to dawn... at least when he has a plane to catch the next morning. Intelligent?

At Patrick Whitesell’s recent bash Rob appeared with a beer constantly in hand, and showed no signs of moving away. Waving his hands towards his fans, Robert Thomas Pattinson slurred, “I’m planning on staying up all night. I’ve got a flight to Toyko in the morning, and there’s no point going to bed. I’m just going to pull an all-nighter!”

Pattinson was found chatting for long with Jared Leto in the party. Other guests in the party included stars like Benicio Del Toro, Zach Braff, Mary-Kate Olsen, and Jeremy Piven.

Does this change the way you feel about Rob at all?

Wrapping Up the Rumors

This morning the casting director for New Moon, Joseph Middleton, announced that "We are finished with the casting process". No details on the cast list has been released by Summit Entertainment. However, we will keep you updated once the list has been made public. The rumors can not stop. Either some people made it or they didn't. So really, its all fact now.

Rumors about the director of Eclipse can stop swirling around as well. As was previously thought, Paul Weitz will be directing Eclipse while his brother Chris Weitz is wrapping up New Moon and the two will probably collaborate together when Chris is done. Drew Barrymore will not be directing.

"Robert Pattinson" on American Idol...

Adam Lambert American IdolWell, a reference anyway. Judge Randy Jackson likened punk rocker Adam Lambert to "Robert Pattinson in Twilight." Maybe it's the hair? Or maybe Adam wants to drink Kara's blood...? In the video below, I'd suggest skipping Paula's stupid comments, probably listen to Simon, and then listen to Randy if you want to hear the Twilight reference!

Here's the clip! (Randy's comment is around the 1:30 mark)

Who Is Directing 'Eclipse'?

At the moment rumors have two viable candidates running for director of Eclipse. Who are they?

1) Paul Weitz
-Who is he? Yeah, he does have the same last name as New Moon director Chris Weitz...oh. It's Chris Weitz's brother. Summit may be considering keeping the movie in the family so that when Chris is done with New Moon he can collaborate with his brother Paul on Eclipse as soon as he is free. Sound good to anyone? However, there may be unhappy Twilighters if we all love Chris's work and Eclipse is given to Paul.

2) Drew Barrymore
-Yes, you read that correctly. Drew Barrymore. The actress-turned-helmer just finished work on her directorial debut, Whip It! starring Ellen Page. She's a great actress...but a director of a vampire movie. Maybe not so much. The filming and post-production will already be so darn fast and crazy that a new newbie director in the hot seat might not be the greatest idea.

What do you guys think? Any suggestions or thoughts on what should or will happen with Eclipse?

UPDATE: DAVID SLADE IS DIRECTING ECLIPSE!!

Unknown Addition to the New Moon Cast

Reports have come out that Canadian actor Bronson Pelletier is definitely signing up for the second installment of the vampire saga New Moon.

Pelletier's reps at Carrier Talent Management posted a message on its Web site earlier today reading, "Congratulations to Bronson who scores a lead role in the highly anticipated Twilight feature film sequel New Moon. It's rumored he will be co-starring with Dakota Fanning."

The message has since been removed, but a source has confirmed that Pelletier has been added to the cast. However, it's uncertain what role Pelletier has been tapped for as Summit has not made his addition to the cast public as of yet. Given Bronson's Native American background—his heritage derives from the Plains Cree tribe of the Askinootow First Nations—it's a strong possibility that he'll be playing one of the werewolves of the Quileute tribe.

Pelletier is known for his work on the television series Renegadepress and Dinosapien.

Twilighted Out

In past year British actor Robert Pattinson has filmed a major motion picture hit movie, walked numerous red carpets, had hundreds of appearances, and plastered his face on the cover of seemingly every magazine except Guns & Ammo. It wasn't until Sunday night, however, that it officially hit Rob-he was a major movie star.

"It's insane," RPattz grinned, standing on the red carpet while Brangelina swept past him. "This is the weirdest. When [the Academy] first told us about [my invitation to present an award], I was like, 'No, no, no. You're joking!' [I thought] I was going to have to do something really stupid, like get gunged [slimed]!" While on the carpet, Pattinson said he couldn't wait to get on to the set of New Moon and start making some new love scenes of his own (is he trying to start some rumors?).

"I think there's going to be some continuity," Pattinson said of the sequel, which will begin filming with new director Chris Weitz next month. "But it's weird, because they are shooting it in a different city [than TwilightI]. I've talked to [Weitz] a bit, but we've only talked about my character; I haven't really talked about the whole look of it. But Chris is great with visual stuff, so it should be pretty impressive."

Robert gave reporters a shocker when asked which New Moon scene he's most eager to shoot, when he responded that he can't wait to dump Kristen Stewart's Bella. "The scene where we temporarily break up," he revealed. "On one hand, it's completely impossible. And on the other, it sets a very different tone to the series. I think it will be good."

It's a good thing that RPattz is so eager to slip back into the peacoat and colored contacts of love-struck vampire Edward Cullen. Because, unbeknownst to all, reporters were on the verge of breaking some big news to him that would basically force the actor to clear his schedule from now until late 2010.

"I didn't even know that!" Rob marveled when we told him that Eclipse had recently been declared with a release date of June 30th 2010 just a mere seven months after the release of New Moon.

"Yep, and Breaking Dawn is going to be at some point as well," he added, knowing that he'll be playing Edward well into his mid-20s. "Yeah, I'm gonna be Twilighted out by the end of the year." In a way it doesn't seem surprising that Rob wasn't knocked off of his feet when he heard the news about Eclipse. He had to have known something, I mean, common, he can't be playing 17-year old Edward Cullen when he's 30...right?

Interesting Read on RPattz

MTV posted the following article regarding Robert Thomas Pattinson's future after Twilight.

HOLLYWOOD— There was a time when it seemed like Paul Walker was the next big thing — before he gave us "Timeline," "Into the Blue" and "Running Scared." Remember when Jon Heder seemed like the biggest star in the world, right before "Just like Heaven," "School for Scoundrels" and "Mama's Boy"? And then there was that Matt Damon guy, another overnight sensation who then went and made a bunch of "Bourne" and "Ocean's" movies.

OK, so things worked out for that last guy. The point is that when you're hot and new in Hollywood, you not only have to act fast — you have to act in good movies. And right now, there's nobody hotter than "Twilight" star Robert Pattinson. So, what's he going to do next?

"I don't know," the newly christened A-lister said to MTV when we asked him if he was trying to "get" anything out of his recent Oscars attendance — be it more recognition, new celebrity friends or even a job offer. "I don't know what to get out of it."

The refreshing thing about RPattz is that he's exactly as the Twilighters like him: honest, self-deprecating and unceasingly handsome. The bad news for his millions of fans, however, is that he pulled out of the film he was supposed to be making right now — and with the n
ews that "Twilight" sequels have him booked through at least late 2010, they have to wonder: Is he waiting too long to make a non-"Twilight" film?

"I haven't worked since the end of 'Twilight,' I've just been doing promotion stuff," Pattinson explained to us on the red carpet at the Oscars.

"But I have a gap in between, so I might do something in there, maybe," he revealed of a small window between "New Moon" and "Eclipse" that could have him filming something new in late 2009. "I'm just relieved that I can kind of do anything [different]."

Of course, Twilighters can look forward to the May 8 release of "Little Ashes," the long-await
ed Salvador Dalí biopic he filmed before "Twilight" gave him fame. But as for his pivotal first post-Edward Cullen choice — the one that could determine if he becomes a Mark Hamill or a Harrison Ford — Pattinson said he isn't sure which Hollywood script he'll select.

"I don't know, just scripts randomly appeal to me," he explained of his role-selection process. "I'm not looking specifically at any genre."

Since "Twilight" made him an overnight star, Pattinson has been flooded with hot Hollywood scripts — but, he insisted, there isn't any common element that he is looking for in them. "There're a few things," he said. "And they are all completely different, so I don't know."

Pattinson is surprised, however, by how many "heartthrob" scripts are being sent his way. No matter how many women pledge their allegiance to his dreamy eyes and unwieldy hair, the English actor insists that he just can't think of himself as a beefcake.

"I'm so surprised it's worked out [that way]," he said of his status as a sex symbol. "I was just thinking the whole time that I've never had the personality to fit into that. I'm not really afraid of it, because I don't even know how to play up that aspect."

Still, Pattinson insisted, whenever he does select his first post-"Twilight" role, it likely won't be a traditional Romeo. "I don't know if I could ever be cast in a heartthrob role except for 'Twilight,' " he insisted. "And I didn't even know that was a heartthrob role."

5 Reasons Why New Moon Will Be Better Than Twilight

Here is an excerpt from Deadbolt.com regarding the Top 5 Reasons New Moon will strike critics and fans alike as better than Twilight:

New characters, new conflict:

The benefit that most sequels have is that the main characters and their relationships have already been established. This leaves the door open for deeper exploration of the story and characters as the each actor has grown into the roles. For an actor, it is all about the interpretation of a character on paper and the transfer of emotion to the screen. A novel can describe emotion, feelings, and settings but a film has to show it. In the case of New Moon, fans should feel more of what they felt from the books now that Twilight is out of the way and the story can unfold.

In New Moon, Bella and Edward’s relationship has already been established. But, like any relationship, the introduction of secondary conflict can play an important role on the dynamics of love. Without giving too much away, beyond Edward and Bella, the impact Jacob has on the story creates simultaneous conflict. Loyalties will be put to the test while the choices of right and wrong are pitted against those of want and need. Much like a second book in a series of novels, New Moon will cut to the chase in a way fans can already identify with via new character dynamics while delving deeper into the complexities of love.

Starlet in Shadows: Dakota Fanning?

With casting for New Moon in full swing, there’s been much buzz surrounding the possible addition of a highly recognizable name in Hollywood for the role of Jane. Dakota Fanning, former child star turned critically acclaimed young movie star, is only 15 and yet Fanning has more experience in the industry than her possible New Moon co-stars combined.

Dakota Fanning has worked alongside such A-listers as Tom Cruise, Denzel Washington and Sean Penn and knows the acting world inside and out. If cast in New Moon Fanning would be the biggest name attached to the film, even more than her recently popular Twilight co-stars. Although many fans have questioned whether Fanning for role of Jane is the right choice, Dakota brings to the table a masterful range of emotion and a wealth of A-list experience. But will her star power overwhelm her co-stars? What we do know is that she can act and the addition of Dakota Fanning could only raise the acting game of the entire cast to make them better. How well fans receive Fanning as Jane may be a different story.

Digging deeper in the name of love:

Stephenie Meyer herself wrote about how much the character of Edward had cemented his own personality and character in such a way that changing his essence would be like changing his physicality. It could not be done. Edward’s role in New Moon is as much about his character as it is a necessity in the relationship he has with Bella. No great love story would be complete without a special, magical bond that’s sometimes painful on many levels and it doesn’t get any better than with a love-struck teenage girl and a broody vampire.

The success of New Moon over Twilight lies in the ability of actors to inhabit their characters on a deeper level. What Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson bring to Bella and Edward for New Moon will require more than just reading lines from a page. Twilight showed us the magic of an inevitable love story and New Moon will continue the saga in a richer manner. It’s the love story that will force Pattinson and Stewart to go deeper inside themselves as actors than they did in Twilight. Usually when people reach deep and go beyond their comfort zones, good things happen. In this case, it will all be in the name of love.

Setting the new mood:

Although Twilight was filmed in the Pacific Northwest of the United States, mainly in Washington St. and Oregon, heading north to Vancouver, British Columbia can only benefit in a couple of ways. First, Vancouver is perfect for the tone and atmosphere of New Moon since it rains so much that Robert Pattinson will feel at home among “Vampouverites.” Although Washington, Oregon, and Vancouver all fit the franchise well, the dreary scenery in Twilight was able to set the tone of the novel, bringing to life the plight of the characters while creating a setting that befitted Edward and Bella’s relationship both internally and externally. Vancouver will bring that in broody spades.

Second, with the slumping economy director Chris Weitz and crew will get more mileage out of the American dollar in exchange, which should afford the production a few more tricks and effects that Twilight wasn’t able to incorporate purely for financial reasons. Who knows what cost savings will add to New Moon, but it’s better than not having enough to work with.

Half of the mystery of Edward and his family lies in their ability to live in shadow and Vancouver provides the perfect backdrop with cloaked forests and overcast skies. Let’s just hope the crew can keep the rabid fans off the set.

The Quileute Tribe and the Legend:

Jacob Black was originally intended to be a stand-alone character in Twilight but his role in New Moon is more significant, as the underlying conflict between werewolves and vampires comes to the forefront. The Quileute legend speaks of its people being descended from werewolves, with the lore based on real Quileute legends except for the introduced conflict with the vampires (or "cold ones" as Jacob describes them). With the arrival of the Cullens, legend and lore allow fans to journey deeper into the mythology and intricacies of New Moon’s opposing forces. In other words, with such a profound back-story between werewolves and vampires, New Moon will explore more while connecting on a deeper level to Bella. In many ways and aspects surrounding the Quileute Tribe and the legend, New Moon should tap into the book on better levels than that of Twilight. The legend and the expanded significance of Jacob will take fans on a darker journey while evoking more complex emotions than Twilight.

Looking ahead:

With casting almost complete and a new location already in play, New Moon is quickly getting production underway in Vancouver. What really matters is the continuation of the story. But can Edward and Bella do what we have envisioned from the book? The mystery lies in the creation and execution of Stephenie Meyer’s world into two hours of visual complexity. Many fans of the series were left wanting with Twilight. Will New Moon become another blockbuster hit at the box-office? Unlike the unknown of Twilight on the big screen, we’re expecting New Moon to be better in at least 5 different ways - new characters and conflict, Dakota Fanning and how she'll raise the game of the cast, Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart digging deeper as actors, the new location, and further exploration of the legend.

New Moon Script Tops Twilight

Alice Cullen TwilightWith New Moon ready to begin shooting in Canada next month is March, Ashley Greene, AKA Alice Cullen, has finally gotten a glimpse of the film's script and is telling Twilighters that it's about to get even better. "I'm so excited. I finally, finally got the script ... and it's good. It's really good," the just turned 22-year-old told reporters from Extra. "I'm really excited to work with Chris [Weitz]. I finally spoke to him the other day. "I like [the script] better than the first one," she added. "I might be biased, because I have a bigger part."

Ashley Greene also commented on the rumors that 90210 star AnnaLynne McCord who is rumored to be cast as Heidi in New Moon. "AnnaLynne is actually a friend of mine, so I have heard about her being cast," she said. "There are a lot of rumors, but that one holds a little bit of weight ... but I hope so. She's a great girl."

Ashley also commented on living life in the paparazzi spotlight, but said that her experience is nothing compared to what Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson have to deal with on a daily basis. "It's nice for me, because as Alice, a lot of people don't recognize me, because my hair is longer and everything's a little different, so it's kind of slowly happening," she said. "Versus poor Rob, [who] went from nobody knowing him to everything being documented."

Vampire At the Oscars!

Reports flew around like crazy that Robert Pattinson would appear and host at the 81st annual Academy Awards last night. All rumors and suspicions were confirmed as the actor took to the red carpet and then the Kodak Theatre stage on Sunday night to have the privilege to present a category of romantic love scenes.

RPattz introduced the clips alongside Amanda Seyfried, and watched a brief cut of "Twilight," which was included alongside the nominees: "The Wrestler," "Iron Man," "High School Musical" and "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button." Hosting at the Oscars confirmed Robert's current breakout status has the man to be in movies.

Robert told reporters that hosting the Oscars was..."insane. When they first told me about this, I was like, 'No, no, no, no, no, you're joking — or I'm going to have to do something really stupid like get gunged [slimed]!" and that "I don't know what to get out of it," as there was so much to take in from his first Oscars.

Pattinson had arrived in true Oscar fashion, sporting a sleek, standard black tuxedo and wearing his now grown out mane lightly tossed around with a subtle patch of scruff on his chin.

While hosting and talking to Amanda Seyfried on the subject of love in films, Robert stated that "what it is, how to get it, how to keep it and what to do when it goes incredibly wrong," are listed among the perspectives on love that have been addressed over the years on screen. Having both been a part of recent romance films, RPattz joked that "I had to become a vampire to find the right woman."
