Rachelle's Bloody Battle
Here is E!Online's Correspondent Marc Malkin on the new bloody battle between Rachelle Lefevre and Summit. With all the bad blood coming to the surface, fans wonder, as does Marc, on whether or not Rachelle will get re-hired and whether or not she will promote New Moon this fall.
Round 3 of Summit Vs. Rachelle
Oh boy, this is getting interesting. Summit now is calling Rachelle Lefevre out about her being shocked at Summit removing her from her role as Victoria in Eclipse. Wonder who is telling the truth now, or is it somewhere in the middle...thoughts?Ms. Lefevre's representatives were advised as early as April that THE TWILIGHT SAGA: ECLIPSE was expected to start shooting in early August.
If Ms. Lefevre was, as she describes “passionate,” about being part of THE TWILIGHT SAGA, we feel that she and her representatives would have included us in her decision to work on another film that would conflict with the shooting schedule of THE TWILIGHT SAGA: ECLIPSE.
It was not until July 20th that Summit was first informed of Ms. Lefevre’s commitment to BARNEY’S VERSION, a commitment we have since been advised she accepted in early June. Summit had acted in good faith that she would be available to fulfill her obligations both in terms of rehearsals and shooting availability for THE TWILIGHT SAGA: ECLIPSE. We feel that her choice to withhold her scheduling conflict information from us can be viewed as a lack of cooperative spirit which affected the entire production.
Furthermore Ms. Lefevre took a role in the other film that places her in Europe during the required rehearsal time, and at least ten days of THE TWILIGHT SAGA: ECLIPSE’s principal photography. This period is essential for both rehearsal time with the cast, and for filming at key locations that are only available during the initial part of production.
Contrary to Ms. Lefevre’s statement, it is simply untrue that the Studio dismissed her over a ten day overlap. It is not about a ten day overlap, but instead about the fact that THE TWILIGHT SAGA: ECLIPSE is an ensemble production that has to accommodate the schedules of numerous actors while respecting the established creative vision of the filmmaker and most importantly the story.
The fact remains that Ms. Lefevre’s commitment to the other project - which she chose to withhold from Summit until the last possible moment - makes her unfortunately unavailable to perform the role of Victoria in THE TWILIGHT SAGA: ECLIPSE.

Top Ten New Moon Facts Revealed at Comic-Con
Rotten Tomatoes just posted the Top Ten New Moon Facts Revealed at Comic-Con and most of them are pretty funny or a relief to know the Chris Weitz is very dedicated the the Twilight sag book style:1. Summit Entertainment knows its audience, evidenced by the two scenes they brought to Comic-Con. Whether you're Team Edward or Team Jacob, there was a shirtless scene for you. Who wanted to see the birthday party scene or the cliff diving scene, when they could get their first peek at Jacob Black hopping valiantly off a bike to strip naked to tend to an almost-drooling Bella? Or watch as Bella raced across Volterra in vain as Edward opened his shirt, stepping into the sunlight? It was such an amazing sight, Bella started running in slow motion.
2. Director Chris Weitz will use a lot of dialogue straight from the book. This was one of the biggest points of contention with the first Twilight, into which screenwriter Melissa Rosenberg had written quotes directly from Meyer's text -- with varying results. ("And so the lion fell in love with the lamb," to which non-fans groaned inwardly.) In both scenes shown at Comic-Con, the majority of dialogue was taken from the pages of New Moon and filmed quite closely to what we imagined.
3. Taylor Lautner is the press-friendly celebrity star that New Moon needed. Compared to his co-stars Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson, Lautner has just the right youthful vigor and enthusiasm (read: he's not jaded yet) to turn Twilight press events into, well, downright energetic press events. Deposited between Stewart and Pattinson in Thursday's early morning press conference, Lautner picked up the slack whenever his co-stars trailed off; the kid's been well prepared. I mean, have you seen that Sharkboy-era dancing video?
4. Kristen Stewart knows that Bella is a head case in New Moon. Critics who thought Bella was unhealthily dependent on Edward in the first Twilight film, or even that his behavior was borderline stalker-ish, will likely seize on her obvious psychological issues in the sequel. When those criticisms come, Stewart's fully prepared. "This is a severely emotional movie," she told journalists. "That's the one big difference. This movie is not about discovery or falling in love, which is sort of just an intense emotion, but this is low and there high points for her, too. She's a manic depressive, basically."
5. A year later, Kristen Stewart's life is just as crazy and her answers just as wry as they were during Twilight. The build-up to the first Twilight film transformed its stars' lives into a constant media circus, with fans even stampeding a mall just to see Pattinson. Asked if life was any different with the sequel on the horizon, Lautner said now he was "really, really busy" and Pattinson noted that he walks down the street hoping not to be noticed. Stewart deadpanned that her only life change was the stylistic kind: "I cut my hair off."
6. The New Moon kids like it when their characters suffer. Asked which scene in New Moon was their favorite, each star picked one in which their characters broke up with each other. "I walk her up to her door and say goodbye to her and I'm going off to fight in the woods and she's worried," Lautner answered. "She's scared for me. I thought that it was kind of cute, but I also like the breakup scene."
"That's my favorite scene in the movie," Stewart said, her face lighting up. "We call it a breakup scene because he basically tells her that they can't be friends anymore and he's transforming. If you ever, ever treated me like that you would kill me."
And Pattinson's favorite scene? "I think my breakup scene was my favorite scene," he said. "I mean, hopefully it'll come off as having quite a few more levels than the relationship in Twilight. It was interesting. It was like a five page long dialogue scene. That didn't happen at all in the first one and it's quite an interesting little moment. It completely bypasses all the supernatural elements of the story as well, which I found quite interesting."
7. Kristen Stewart can't wait to have Rob Pattinson's baby! (Just kidding.) When asked what scene she's most looking forward to filming over the course of Eclipse and Breaking Dawn, Stewart let out a spoiler of sorts. "I can't wait to get pregnant!" Stewart joked, referring to her character's storyline. Pattinson's response: "I can't wait to perform the Cesarian." Taylor's most anticipated scene? The one where he gets to strip naked and cuddle with Bella in a sleeping bag, naturally.
8. If you post a New Moon reaction video to YouTube, Chris Weitz is probably watching it right now. During the panel discussion, Weitz revealed that he and the editing crew have watched many of your screaming, breathless fan reaction videos. He's even thinking of making a reaction video to the reaction videos!
9. Twilight fanaticism was as strong as ever this year. While nothing could top the ear-piercing and unexpected sounds of thousands of girls at the Twilight panel last year -- where fan boy culture's hold on the Con was hijacked by a vampire romance, of all things -- 2009 sure came close. And Twilighters were better prepared for the challenge of getting a coveted seat in Hall H for Thursday's panel; a few fans camped out a full two days ahead, and by Wednesday morning, Twihards were Twittering from the line.
10. The anti-Twilight backlash finally has a name! You know your favorite fantasy property has really made it when entire Comic-Con costumes are created just to complain about it (i.e. the mostly-male Con attendees sporting "Twilight Ruined Comic-Con" signs).

Rachelle Lefevre Shocked At Being Replaced!
“I was stunned by Summit’s decision to recast the role of Victoria for Eclipse. I was fully committed to the Twilight saga, and to the portrayal of Victoria. I turned down several other film opportunities and, in accordance with my contractual rights, accepted only roles that would involve very short shooting schedules. My commitment to Barney’s Version is only ten days. Summit picked up my option for Eclipse. Although the production schedule for Eclipse is over three months long, Summit said they had a conflict during those ten days and would not accommodate me. Given the length of filming for Eclipse, never did I fathom I would lose the role over a 10 day overlap. I was happy with my contract with Summit and was fully prepared to continue to honor it. Summit chose simply to recast the part.
I am greatly saddened that I will not get to complete my portrayal of Victoria for the Twilight audience. This is a story, a theatrical journey and a character that I truly love and about which I am very passionate. I will be forever grateful to the fan support and loyalty I’ve received since being cast for this role, and I am hurt deeply by Summit’s surprising decision to move on without me. I wish the cast and crew of Eclipse only the very best."
Wow, sounds like there might be something else going on there! What do you guys think of this whole scenario? We here at TB.net are very sad to see Rachelle go, especially like this!

Naked Volturi Leaders in New Moon
Newcomer to the Twilight saga, Jamie Campbell-Bower, dished to MTV about why New Moon will have a PG-13 rating. It isn't all because of shirtless hunks Taylors Lautner and Robert Pattinson, but due to some good lookin' naked guys:
" 'We just all sit there, completely naked, for one scene," revealed "New Moon" actor Jamie Campbell Bower, talking about a racy moment that was added into the upcoming film. "Yeah, it's me, Michael Sheen and Christopher [Heyerdahl]; we just sit there, naked'...
In actuality, the scene has a fully clothed Carlisle visiting the Volturi in Italy, only to locate Aro, Caius and Marcus in a bathhouse. 'It's a full-body shot, and then Peter comes in, and it all gets a bit awkward,' Bower said. "[Carlisle] is clothed completely. They're bathing in sort of a Roman bath kind of thing.' "

Rachelle Lefevre to Be Replaced!
Summit Entertainment announced early this morning that actress Rachelle Lefevre would not be continuing on to play bad vampire Victoria in the third installment of the Twilight Saga. Instead, actress Bryce Dallas Howard (seen in The Village and Terminator Salvation) will be replacing Rachelle in Eclipse, the third film to be directed by David Slade. Summit announced this:Summit Entertainment announced today that Bryce Dallas Howard will take over the role of “Victoria” in the studio’s upcoming production of THE TWILIGHT SAGA: ECLIPSE. Actress, Rachelle Lefevre, who portrayed the character in TWILIGHT as well as the upcoming release of THE TWILIGHT SAGA: NEW MOON, will not continue in the role due to scheduling conflicts with another commitment the actor has made. THE TWILIGHT SAGA: ECLIPSE will start filming in Vancouver this coming August.
THE TWILIGHT SAGA: ECLIPSE, the third film in the studio’s TWILIGHT film franchise based on Stephenie Meyer’s blockbuster book series, will be directed by David Slade from a screenplay written by Melissa Rosenberg. The film will be released theatrically in North America on Wednesday, June 30, 2010.
“We are incredibly happy that Bryce has agreed to come into the franchise,” said Erik Feig, Summit’s President of Worldwide Production and Acquisitions. “Rachelle brought “Victoria” to great screen life and Bryce will bring a new dimension to the character. The franchise is lucky to have such a talented actress as Bryce coming in to fill the role.”
Howard most recently starred in TERMINATOR SALVATION as Kate Connor and has been seen in SPIDER-MAN 3, LADY IN THE WATER, and THE VILLAGE. She was nominated for a Golden Globe for her leading performance as an actress in the HBO film AS YOU LIKE IT.
In THE TWILIGHT SAGA: ECLIPSE, Bella once again finds herself surrounded by danger as Seattle is ravaged by a string of mysterious killings and a malicious vampire continues her quest for revenge. In the midst of it all, she is forced to choose between her love for Edward and her friendship with Jacob — knowing that her decision has the potential to ignite the ageless struggle between vampire and werewolf. With her graduation quickly approaching, Bella is confronted with the most important decision of her life.

Bella the Hero of 'New Moon'?
Here in this interview with MTV, Kristen Stewart pronounces that Bella Swan is the hero of the newest movie, New Moon. Because Bella gets to be the hero instead of the "manly" Edward Kristen likes New Moon a heck of a lot more. Thoughts? Is Bella really the hero or does she just appeal more because she is a hurt character? Or is Jacob more of the hero (isn't he a more likely choice than Bella?)?
Taylor & Kristen "Stoked"?
Aahaha, this guy from Comic-Con with Fandango is pretty funny with his conversational attempt to interview Taylor Lautner and Kristen Stewart this past week. They talk about New Moon some about how it is darker and that the stars haven't seen a whole lot of their work:
Combined Twilight & New Moon Trailer
Here is a sweet combined trailer for Twilight and New Moon that was fan made. It uses clips from the saga movies and other movies as well. Pretty cool trailer!
Love Is In the Air
Here is a portion of an article that discusses the newly formed chemistry between Taylor Lautner and Kristen Stewart. Is something going on between Kristen and Taylor? Does this terminate anything that was between Kristen and Rob? What do you guys think? Sounds a little fishy to us:'It isn't often that, right in the middle of an interview, one of the subjects will suddenly lean over and nearly give the other one a full-on, passionate kiss. But when we caught up with "Twilight" saga stars Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner recently at Comic-Con, love was in the air.
"It's not tough when you're working with someone like this," Lautner insisted, moments after KStew responded to the chemistry question by leaning over and fake-kissing the hunky actor who packed on more than 30 pounds of muscle for the sequel. "[Stewart] is extremely talented."
"And it's such a different relationship," added Stewart, who couldn't possibly look any more anti-Bella these days as she finishes up work on her "Runaways" biopic about rocker Joan Jett, with short black hair and a Minor Threat T-shirt as her Comic-Con attire. "It's entirely original." '

Chris Weitz Dishes More on New Moon Soundtrack
During the past few days, New Moon director Chris Weitz has spilt some more details about the soundtrack during the Comic-Con event:New Moon director Chris Weitz told HitFix there will be a track by Bon Iver in the film: "I selfishly want to put songs in by artists I love. And some the cast and crew also happen to love. I think [Bon Iver] is fantastic. He says he wrote it for the film, but who ever knows if it might just be something laying around in his cupboard.”
Chris Weitz then also re-confirmed that Radiohead’s Thom Yorke has a new song for the soundrack , and that he listened to it for the first time yesterday: “Unless it’s sounds of him belching, I think I’ll put it in” Weitz said.

Anti-Twimoms At Comic-Con
"A group of girls, who wanted to be called the anti-Twimoms, complained loudly to Elite security officers about people who were saving space at the front of the line, and older fans -- or mothers of fans -- who were cutting in line and camping out. The girls proceeded to say that it was also "creepy" that some of the women were so adamant about going to a panel to see a teenager (Taylor Lautner who plays Jacob -- apparently the moms were on Team Jacob).
Security told them that each person was allowed to hold three spaces in line and that that was a courtesy granted to them. "You are actually loitering, " said one of the security guards. The girls countered by saying that if one person can hold three spots, then if one of those people came, then they could also hold three spots, and the line in front of them would increase exponentially."

New Moon Trailer Spoof

Nikki Reed Dating Paris Latsis?
The rumor mill has been working as news has been spreading of Twilight actress Nikki Reed dating Greek shipping heir – and former fiancé to Paris Hilton – Paris Latsis."They met about six months ago and have been together since," said a close friend of the actress. "The reason she traveled over to Greece was to be with [PARIS]."
Nikki in May skipped out of accompanying her co-stars in Italy to spend time with her family. However, is may only be half the truth. The beauty was apparently introducing her family to her 29-year-old boyfriend's family in Greece. "Both families have met, and really like each other," the snitch said. "That's how serious it's getting between [Nikki and Paris]. Robert Pattinson is nowhere on the radar. She's upgraded, in her mind."
So what do you fans think? Is this another well construed rumor or is it true?

Jackson Rathbone on New Moon Soundtrack?

Here is a portion of a neat article about how our very own Jackson Rathbone the elusive vampire may have one of his singles with his band 100 Monkeys on the New Moon soundtrack:
Hollywood Crush at MTV reports:
With his move into producing, the actor is making a bid to become a true Hollywood triple-threat. In addition to roles in films like “Twilight” and the upcoming “The Last Airbender,” Rathbone’s band released an album and several fresh singles earlier this year, and there’s even talk of contributing a single to the “New Moon” soundtrack.
“I wake up everyday and I just thank God I’m alive and get to do this,” Jackson gushes. “It’s incredible.”

Fandango Interview with Jamie Campbell-Bower

Here is a neat interview Fandango did with Jamie Campbell-Bower:
Campbell Bower: Anthony was a nice guy, and Caius is – I don't want to say not nice but he's a little bit more broody and dark. Brooding – not broody. He doesn't want to have a baby, he's brooding. [Laughs]
Q. How come you're not wearing your vampire red contacts right now?
Campbell Bower: They hurt. They don't hurt so much as make me feel a bit sick because my peripheral vision is very much impaired when I have them in.
Q. How would you describe Caius' look?
Campbell Bower: I had a discussion with (costume designer) Tish (Monaghan), and we figured out that Caius probably doesn't get to go out that much, so… he just steals his clothes from previous victims. The style is nice and smart and sleek and slim and – yeah, I like it. It's very Italian, and I like the shoes, particularly.
Q. How much is expanded on in the 18th century flashback scenes?
Campbell Bower: A little bit – not very much as far as the Volturi go. It's awesome. It does look really cool and it will be kind of shocking. I don't want to go too far and ruin it for anyone.
Q. Are you signed on for Eclipse and Breaking Dawn?
Campbell Bower: I possibly will be coming back for number four. Number three, not at the moment. I don't think Caius appears at all in number three.
Q. Were you prepared to be a part of the Twilight madness?
Campbell Bower: Nothing has really prepared me for that. I got off the plane the other night when I arrived and there were five guys waiting there asking if I could take a picture with them. That was weird enough! I was like, "Why? Uh, OK. Yes, of course I can. You know I'm nobody, right?" It's really interesting, and I only hope that, with the support that I'm getting from people at the moment, I will live up to it in the film. My Twitter fan base between last month and this month has gone up 6,000 people. That is craziness! That is really, really bizarre.
Q. What were you obsessed with when you were younger?
Campbell Bower: I was obsessed with girls when I was 13-years-old; I wasn't really into books. I think there's something about Stephanie's (Meyer) writing that rings so true. Obviously, people can relate to it, and teenage kids particularly can relate to the themes in the book, and that love for someone when you're that sort of age. When you're 13, 14, 15, you go, "I love you. I don't really love you, but I'm gonna say I love you anyway." [Laughs] I wasn't obsessed with anything when I was younger, really. I don't know. I'm boring.
Q. Are you going to continue with music and acting?
Campbell Bower: With acting, I'm now at a stage where it's like it's a career for me. It's still fun, but it's not something that I'm jumping in and out of. The music is kind of building up alongside that. It's not at the point that the acting is at the moment. I'm still starting fresh and trying to get people to come see shows, and labels to come and check us out, and hopefully, eventually get a record deal. I want to be able to do both side by side.
Q. Your band is called The Darling Buds, but it's not the first Darling Buds.
Campbell Bower: It's the second Darling Buds. I'm not entirely sure where I got the name from. Maybe I just took it in subconsciously at some point during my life. I was like, "That sounds cool. Oh, wait--there's another band." It's fine; the other Darling Buds haven't been around for a long time, and I think the idea with copyright is that as long as you're not misleading people into buying what they think is other people's music, then that's fine. And their stuff isn't on iTunes, hopefully.
Q. Has anyone suggested a Twilight Musical Tour?
Campbell Bower: No, no one has suggested that at all. That'd be kind of fun. Twilight Musical Tour '09—It's gonna be huge! Here we come!

Nikki Reed & Rachelle Lefevre Talk New Mon
Back in March of 2009, Twilight stars Nikki Reed and Rachelle Lefevre were interviewed by Access Hollywood to talk about New Moon:
Harry Potter vs. Twilight
This week, RGS welcomes Will Graham, executive producer of the Onion News Network and features Bobby bothering the fans of the new Harry Potter Movie at the midnight screening.
Details of New Moon Soundtrack
New Moon director Chris Weitz recently did an interview with the LA Times where he details some of the bands we’ll see on the New Moon soundtrack–including a repeat performance from Muse and newcomers to the Twilight universe Radiohead and Band of Skulls."Driving home from a day of post-production, Weitz says he understands what’s at stake. There are 450 visual effects shots to complete, in addition to the score and the movie’s soundtrack, which he says will feature songs from Radiohead, Muse and Band of Skulls, among others. But the sequences he’s readying for the event — one, an action scene that will feature some of those effects, the other, a love scene sure to elicit hysteria from the crowd — will be done in time."

Rachelle Lefevre On New Moon Stunts

HitFix recently got to talk with New Moon's Rachelle Lefevre and talk about her life and her stunt work for the newest Twilight installment:
It’s so much wire work. It’s so much actual doing it, I think. In terms of the look of it, I don’t know exactly. I think [director Chris Weitz's] approach seems to be that it should be a little more raw and a little more literally grounded. So, I think it was very sort of flighty in the first one when we were running fast and things like that. It was almost like you weren’t touching the ground. It was almost like kind of gliding thing and I think that the work we’ve been doing [for 'New Moon'] is a lot more like actual contact with the ground, you know actually holding onto the trees rather than being able to just sort of float in them. So I think the gravity may be a little more than in the first film so that might have a different look as a result.
Q: Do you get to walk on that magic carpet thing again?
No, no magic carpet this time. I’m all in a harness. I’m 25-feet up most days and then any time I’m on the ground they’re doing like depending on [the camera speed of] 12 frames per second or 72 so they can slow it up or speed it and then you’re literally just running and jumping and chasing.
Q: It sounds like it’s a lot more stunt work than you thought it might be.
It is. It’s amazing. It’s funny our running joke—because I’ve been doing it for 2 1/2 weeks—and like we had a cast dinner last night, and everybody’s like 'Where have you been?' Like I see them all the time at night, but I never see them during the day and they’re like 'Where are you?' And I’m like 'Oh you guys don’t know, but we’re making another whole movie in the woods a half hour away.' So, I said I hope we get an extended version of the scene on the DVD because I’ve been filming the same stunts—the same fight sequence for 2 1/2 weeks.
Q: So, we get to see you jump from 25 feet up in a tree down to the ground?
There’s leaping off trees to the ground. There’s leaping up in the air from trees to other trees. I was about 40-feet up just hanging out looking like I was just kind of standing there. There’s a lot of that. And then my stunt double, who spent five years with Cirque du Soleil did some very cool like backflips and things like that on the wires. Yeah, being thrown around by werewolves you’d be like in one place one minute and then they pull [and] you’re like hooked up to wire and then they’ll pull the wires and then you get yanked up flying into the air and your body’s folded in half. It’s very cool.

Kellan Lutz Doing Push-Ups
This is would be why all the girls love Kellan. Here he is on the TwiTour in Atlanta amusing the crowd of women by doing push-ups while being a ham. Gotta love his way of working out:
Chris Weitz Spills 'New Moon' Details
Rotten Tomatoes recently had some time with New Moon director Chris Weitz and he was willing to spill details regarding the Proposal Scene all have been agonizing about and numerous other details/questions:"I am about two weeks away from showing my director's cut to the studio," Weitz told us. "I've got some wolves with fur, and some wolves are still invisible, basically. And some wolves are kind of like...what look like Claymation versions. We are still in the late R&D phases of what Edward looks like when he's hit by sunlight, what the vampires look like when they're hit with sunlight, the diamond effect, and also the hallucinatory effect that Bella has when she hears Edward's voice and she imagines him there."
Speaking of changes, let's address the big fan question: The Proposal Scene. While Melissa Rosenberg's script for Twilight deviated slightly from Meyer's source novel, most agree that it remained generally faithful in story and (perhaps to a fault) in dialogue. So will New Moon's conclusion stay faithful to Meyer's "proposal scene," in which Edward makes a very specific ultimatum in response to a life-changing request from Bella?
"It hasn't been cut out, I can tell you that much," Weitz carefully shared. He paused to compose his answer, making sure not to reveal too much. "It's not going to hit them in exactly the way that they think it's going to, but I will say that -- how can I put it? --it's going to be quite special. I kind of saved all of my gusto for that moment. I don't think it will disappoint.

Video Tour of 'New Moon' Set
Here are two parts of 3 by MovieSet tour of the set of New Moon. The Twilight-expert tour guide uses screenshots from the New Moon trailer to map out the exact spot in the forest that Bella and Edward break up in the film and you also see the theater scene exterior location.
Behind the Scenes of 'New Moon'

The Sun-Sentinel just posted a really cool article about the behind the scenes of New Moon with interviews with director Chris Weitz and actors including Taylor Lautner.
After this film, Weitz will depart the "Twilight" saga; director David Slade, known for his edgy-with-a-capital-"E" feature debut "Hard Candy" and the bloody horror outing "30 Days of Night" will helm the third film in the franchise, "The Twilight Saga: Eclipse," which goes before cameras Aug. 17 and is set for release June 30, 2010.
Producer Wyck Godfrey says changing directors while maintaining the same actors and screenwriter, in this case, Melissa Rosenberg, will bring a different energy to each "Twilight" movie without disrupting the overall continuity. Weitz was brought on after Hardwicke opted out of doing "New Moon," citing scheduling conflicts, but Slade's selection raised some eyebrows. The heart of the story is the romance between Edward and Bella after all, and Slade doesn't seem like much of a romantic.'

Christopher Heyerdahl Excited for New Moon

Christopher Heyerdahl who will appear as Marcus in New Moon was recently interview by People Magazine:
Heyerdahl stars in the new film as Marcus, leader of centuries-old vampire clan the Volturi. He tells SciFiWire that he sees a bit of his character, who once lost his own true love, in main couple Bella and Edward.
"[He's] pretty darn excited by this love that he witnesses, [but] it causes him great pain with the memory of what he had and lost."
Heyerdahl says the role of Marcus "was very complex to play, especially when you are doing it with so few lines." But he's not complaining: "He's one of the oldest vampires on the planet, and who doesn't want to play a 3,000-year-old vampire?"
Most thrilling, though, is having the opportunity to be a part of the Twilight phenomenon. "To be a part of something that has been compared to Beatlemania, which comes close to a good way of describing it, it's pretty incredible," he says.'

KStew & RPattz To Attend Comic-Con

With the rumors running their course about who will be attending the Comic-Con next week some sources are confirming that some of our favorites will be attending:
Kristen's shooting sitch is actually a bit tighter, we hear. Production on The Runaways isn't wrapping next week, but we're told K.Stew is still on track to make a "whirlwind" trip down to Comic-Con. Hmmm. Enough time for some quickie canoodling we assume? "Yes," we're told.
So are we about to jump on the same old Robsten go-around with hotel arrangements down in beautiful and romantic San Diego? If you remember back to the New Moon filming days in Vancouver, Rob and Kristen were purposely being kept several bed lengths from each other at separate hotels.
Well, we have very good intel in San Diego who dished to us that will not be the case next week. R and K are supposedly booked in the same bunking quarters. Hip, hip room-service hooray! Although they probably have their own rooms, you all can use your dirty imagination whether or not they'll actually be using them.
For the sake of Kristen and Rob and our hotel friends down in S.D., we won't be giving out which spot Robsten's going to be shacking up at, but for you Twi fans going, if you all run into them down there, do give us the dirty deets."

Twilight As A Graphic Novel!
Hear ye, hear ye, hear ye, all Twis need to know that Yen Press will be publishing Twilight in graphic-novel form! However, the publication date is still to be determined:"Korean artist Young Kim is creating the art and Stephenie Meyer herself is deeply immersed in the project, reviewing every panel.
Take a close look at the biology-class sketch we’ve obtained (that’s an empty dialogue bubble between their heads, if you’re wondering). What’s interesting to me is that it doesn’t look simply like an artist’s rendering of Kristen Stewart and Rob Pattinson. In fact, the characters seem to be an amalgam of Meyer’s literary imagination and the actors’ actual looks. The description of Edward from biology class: “His dazzling face was friendly; open, a slight smile on his flawless lips. But his eyes were cautious.” And Bella: “I was ivory-skinned …. I had always been slender, but soft somehow, obviously not an athlete…” To me, this graphic-novel Bella seems much closer to me to Meyer’s book than to Stewart’s sultry portrayal. The Edward shown is closer to Pattinson, but not a real duplicate; there’s something very winning in the sketch that I don’t see in Pattinson’s all-too-perfect tousled bronze locks and piercing eyes.
What do you think? If you’d like to see more before weighing in, pick up a copy of EW magazine, which will hit newsstands on Friday, July 17 — it contains finished illustrations of Edward, Bella, and Jacob."

Epic Battle of Harry Potter Vs. Twilight

The mystical battle between the wizards and vampires is still going full steam and refuses to end until all the movies are completed. Until that day arrives, the race to see whose movie will do better is still on.
With the newest installment of Harry Potter, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, that saga is surging to pass Twilight as the third top-selling advance ticketer in Fandango history.
Yet, with the movies coming out at different times, who is to tell who is really winning. As soon as New Moon will come out in November we all know Harry Potter will be in for a butt kicking. According to a Fandango survey of more than 3,000 moviegoers planning to see Harry Potter, 45% claim they're also fans of the Twilight saga! With this mass identification with both parties, the vampires are still some limelight and probably will have Harry Potter beaten in the popularity ranks sooner than we all think.

Rachelle Lefevre On New Directors & Everything Twilight

Rachelle Lefevre was recently interview for the London Free Press and here is her interview covering thoughts of new directors, characters, and KStew + RPattz:
"They have fantastic chemistry together on-screen and you know that's the kind of thing that becomes the source of rumours," Lefevre says.
"People want them to be together. People would love to hear that -- that they fell in love on the set and so they read that into everything they see.
"But all I've seen are two people who have beautiful chemistry on-screen and are bonded. Kristen, before Twilight, already had a huge resume and had worked with some heavy hitters, but she had also flown under the radar.
"And Rob, he was in Harry Potter (and the Goblet of Fire), so he had some experience with fame, but it was nothing remotely like this. So when two people go through that experience together -- the fandom and everything -- it's going to bond them."
Usually when a film succeeds, a studio clings to its creator. But in the case of New Moon, Catherine Hardwicke is out, replaced by Chris Weitz (The Golden Compass).
"It could have been bad," Lefevre admits. "But I think because Harry Potter went through it first to their benefit, we were like, 'The Potter kids went through a director shift and they were OK, so we'll be OK, too.'
"And we were. Chris came in with such a clear idea of what the movie was. And he paid respect to what had come before -- so it was kind of seamless."
A third transition will happen later this year in Vancouver when another director, David Slade (30 Days of Night), takes the reins of the next sequel Eclipse.
"It's perfect timing for David because Eclipse is darker than the other two. There's more action. It's not a horror movie, but it is darker."
And just as the series evolves, so does Lefevre's role as Victoria seeks to avenge the death of her lover, James.
"In the first movie, because I didn't have as much screen time, I wanted to be very clear. I wanted to convey energy and be very present, but also very playful. And that's because (Victoria) enjoyed stalking Bella with James.
"But when James is killed, it becomes about exacting revenge, which comes from a totally different place. It's not just a game any more."
Also beefed up -- literally and figuratively -- is Lautner. The 17-year-old actor, who played Jacob in Twilight, nearly lost the part because producers worried he was too young and skinny to embody the tougher, more mature Jacob of New Moon.
But Lautner "completely won that role," Lefevre says.
"The day Twilight wrapped, even before we knew there was going to be New Moon, Taylor started working out like an animal. He put on 30 pounds of muscle . . . I saw some of his dailies and he has a presence that, if you were to watch Twilight and New Moon back to back, he looks like he's aged five years."

100 Monkeys on Music & Fame

StarShine Magazine recently interview Jackson Rathbone and the band members of his band, 100 Monkeys:
Jackson: The 100 Monkeys started with Ben G. and I–like 3 years ago–whenever he moved to L.A. We were roommates back in high school. We knew Ben J. back then, and we started the band as a two-man group just doing improv music and trying to get Ben J. out to Los Angeles to make some music with us. Along the way, we happened to meet up with Jared Anderson who we would jam with all the time. Now we all are together in harmony. It’s fantastic.
Ben G: It’s like an MTV reality show.
Would you ever do one of those?
Jackson: No, that would make even more drama out of what little drama there is.
Jared: If it was a Discovery Channel reality show, yes.
Speaking of the Discovery Channel, why did you choose to name the band after “The Hundredth Monkey Effect,” which per your MySpace page, “generally describes the instant, paranormal spreading of an idea or ability to the remainder of a population once a certain portion of that population has heard of the new idea or learned the new ability”?
Jackson: That was one part of it, and [that idea] if you get 100 monkeys in the room with 100 typewriters, eventually they’ll create the works of Shakespeare. (See: Infinite Monkey Theorem) It’s the certain style of music we make and the music we write.
If you came up with your own Monkey Effect, what idea would you like to impart on society?
Ben G: Wow!
Jackson: We’re really trying to get people into the Spencer Bell Memorial. (www.spencerbellmemorial.com) It’s a benefit for adrenal cancer research and our friend Spencer Bell, who was our greatest influence in all of our music. He passed away about three years ago, so we’re just working, trying to keep his memory alive and keep his music out to the masses. We were able to raise money to put out one of his albums, and we have 3 more because of the fan support that we’ve been getting. It’s just incredible.
Why have you chosen to use improv in your music?
Jared: I think because we started as actors, most of us, minus Ben J. Improv is part of acting, so we all love doing it. We play well off each other, and we do take straight-up audience suggestions and make up a song on the spot, even all the instrumental parts.
Just then, the sound of piano keys interrupts his thought as the boys chime in, singing and playing notes, “It’s a song that we’re singing for the very first time…” Over just as soon as it started, they jump back on the interview train -
Jackson: See, genius! Where inspiration takes you, it takes you hard. If you take the drummer and the drummer starts playing bass and the singer starts singing backup vocals, you find a whole new bunch of stuff in the music that you might not find if you didn’t allow yourself the freedom to change the lyrics once in a while or completely make up a song.
Jared: It’s called the 100 Monkeys Switcheroo.
Ben G: We increase each other’s talents.
Jackson: We all come from different backgrounds and ways of learning music. It’s really interesting, and it’s really cool to have that diversity ‘cause when it comes together, it creates this union of –
Jared: – magic. A union of magic.
Jackson: Sometimes it sounds awful…but still magic. Sometimes it sounds good. (laughs)
Can everyone play all of the instruments?
Ben G: Not yet, but almost. People have their strengths. Everybody specializes I think in probably two things.
Jackson: We wanna give the audience a show. We love our fans. We love performing, and we feel that when you come to our show, you’re gonna get to hear a song that’s never going to be played live again. People always come up to us at the end of shows requesting other improv songs.
Jared: I actually feel like we owe it to ‘em after a while because they’re like demanding, and I’m like, “I don’t know how!” I’m like, “Let’s just suck it up and learn it!”
Given that three out of the four of you are also actors, do you have a preference between music and acting?
Jackson: I wanna have my cake and eat it too. I wanna do both. I think the way we figure it, it feeds both sides of the creative process.
To feed the elephant in the room, Jackson, can you tease anything about “New Moon” for the yearning “Twilight” fans out there?
Jackson: It’s gonna be raging…action-packed, more steamy romance. You get to see a lot more crazy stuff happening. We went deeper into the world now, and it’s gonna be a fun thrill ride for everyone.
Also, filming recently wrapped in Pennsylvania for M. Night Shyamalan’s “The Last Airbender.” What was that experience like, Jackson?
Jackson: It’s been incredible, a great set. I really believe we’re making a film that’s going to be epic. It’s gonna move people. I think the movie’s gonna turn out beautiful.
The 100 Monkeys have performed with Rob Pattinson in the past. Any chance that’ll be a recurring collaboration?
Jackson: Well, I mean, Rob’s a busy guy…(laughs) We’ve had a few chances to play with him. He’s an awesome musician.
How has “Twilight” mania affected the band’s popularity?
Jackson: It’s definitely gotten us some attention, but I think the main thing is our lives shows. People get to –
Jared: – escape into a fun land. Enjoy good music.
Jackson: Yeah, we like to have a good time. That’s what we’re always trying to do – play music for as many people as possible.
Jared: Hopefully, they come in ready to rock out and have some fun. That’s all you can expect.
Ben G: If you scream loud enough, we’ll make up a song that you decide what it’s called. Things like guitar picks and sweat.
Jackson: We like to give things away a lot on stage.
Jared: Sometimes we bring monkeys and throw them into the crowd.
Jackson: By the way, Ben J. is an adamant whale enthusiast. I know that if he were here, he would want to mention something about preserving the humpback whale in particular. Just figured I’d throw that in there.

Emma Watson & Rob?

Actress Emma Watson, aka Hermione Granger, recently spoke out again regarding rumours that arose about her and Robert Pattinson after they got more than a little friendly at a BAFTA afterparty in February:
"He's just a good friend," Watson told the New York Daily News when asked about him at last week's NYC premiere of Harry Potter And The Half-Blood Prince.
"He's a super-nice guy, and girls love him. We're just friends - but he sure was great to work with."
