Should "Twilight" Be Taught In The Classrooms?

I recently found a post on enotes.com, which is a popular site for teachers to go to. A teacher brought up how some school libraries do not have The Twilight Series books. She wants to know why can't the students study something they are excited about? Twilight does go in depth and students can have intellectual discussions about it.

As the Devil's Advocate, I have to say many boys do not like the series. Not everyone is into it and some people's parents would be against it because of the whole vampire and werewolf issue. Also, some parents are extremely strict and knowing that they are reading a story about a teen boy hiding in his girlfriend's room and the secrets Bella keeps from her father, may cause some uproar in family homes.

What are your thoughts on this issue?

"Twilight" Survey

Thanks to Florence for his e-mail, this picture and best of luck with your survey!

A great fan of ours recently e-mailed us with a survey he is doing for a class. It's all based on Twilight and its cultural aspect to the world. Florence needs at least 1,000 samples, so please go here and take the survey. It's only 30 questions and will not take much time. You can also view Florence's page and leave a comment here.

Round 1: Twilight VS Blade

Ding, Ding, Ding....Round 1

Wow, let me just start out by saying how wonderful these movies are. We all know the synopsis for the Twilight series so I won't go there, but let me begin by giving a brief synopsis of Blade. Blade was released in 1998 and stars Wesley Snipes as Blade, the half human/half vampire hybrid who hunts vampires. Blade is a vampire film for the man who thinks he is too manly to watch the TS. I wanted to start my series with this film because Blade sort of reminded me of what Reneseme is going to be: a part human, part vampire badass!! Blade is human in every way except the fact that he has no control of his blood thirst and he can go outside during the day (the vamps call him Daywalker). He has no control like the Cullens have. Blade is a very action packed film as opposed to the TS, which has many genres. The vampires in Blade are very different than the TS. Blade's vampires have an underground lair in which they have blood raves and feast on humans. They are very secretive and only come out at night, not because they shimmer like diamonds as on the TS, but because they supposidly burn under UV light. Another difference in these films is that Blade uses the traditional silver stakes and garlic infused weapons to kill the bad vamps. The Cullens say that the only way to kill a vamp in the TS is to rip them apart and burn the pieces.

Blade begins by showing a pregnant woman in the hospital, dying of blood loss, not due to the childbirth but to the vampire attack (the doctors say it was an animal attack like TS). In Blade, there is a society of sorts (much like the Volturi) that believe that vamps can co-exist with humans without being noticed but there is also Deacon Frost (sort of a nomad type from TS) who just believes in ruling them however he sees fit. Blade saves a woman doctor who was bitten and she learns of his past and the fact that he has to inject himself with a serum to keep his thirst in check. She also learns of a mentor and helper of Blade's named Whistler (played by Kris Kristofferson). Blade continues to "crash" the underground vamp parties and kill off the bad vamps, searching all the while for Frost, who is trying to become a blood god (whatever that is!). Frost somehow kidnaps Blade's woman friend and almost kills Whistler, who is given a gun by Blade to committ suicide. The last thing you hear from him is a bang as Blade walks away. Furious, Blade goes to Frost's lair to stop him and to his surprise, finds his own mother did not die during childbirth but became a vamp herself...a mistress to Frost. During this information overload, Blade is captured only to find he was part of the plot all along to transform Frost into the blood god. Frost needed Blade's sunlight resistant blood. Frost succeeds in gaining powers from the other members of the society and Blade's blood, giving him the strength, speed, and red eyes similar to the vamps in the TS. In a final action scene, Blade battles Frost to "save the world" and of course Blade wins. In the end, the woman Blade saved had invented a cure for Blade's vampirism but Blade refused it because he wants to continue hunting vamps instead of being normal. There is a Blade II and a Blade Trinity that came after this but this is just about the 1st film.

Ok, so here is my opinion. There are very few similarities of Blade and the Twilight series. Blade is a rated R movie, so there is a lot more room for gore and blood and fighting. I think men would prefer Blade over TS but you never know. Some men appreciate a good human/vamp love story as well. The vampires in Blade do not break like stone when they fight and are more human like in that aspect. They do not appear to be super fast like the Cullens or nearly as good looking!! I still enjoyed this film and would love some feedback of how you feel about Blade. Is there something in particular that you liked or disliked about the vamps in either film? Do you agree that Blade was geared more towards adult men than teenagers? I wonder what any of the Twilight films could have been if made rated R, especially Breaking Dawn!

Who's the Scariest Vamp Of Them All? Kristen!

A rain droplet has finally fallen in this horrible Breaking Dawn drought! Elizabeth Reaser talked to MTV at the 2011 Sundance Film Festival about Kristen's vampire transformation, Mackenzie Foy, and Kristen's cookies!

Elizabeth said Kristen's transformation was almost scary. We all know it is because Kristen is so freaking awesome. Watching her go from fumbling, mumbling Bella to super strong, kick butt vampire is going to be interesting. According to Elizabeth, she is doing wonderfully in her transformation.

She also chats about Mackenzine Foy playing her grandchild. She makes the comment about how talented and wonderful she is. How funny that someone so young is playing a grandma....she is the perfect Esme though. <3 her.

StephieBear, Devil's Advocate: Should Bella Have Dumped Edward?

Should Bella have dumped Edward?

There are many people, including Dr. Phil, who believe that the story of Bella and Edward are a bad influence on today's young people. I was watching Dr. Phil one day and he said he found it disturbing that Edward sneaks into Bella's room and she willingly allows him to do so.

Soon after The Twilight Saga: Eclipse was released, there were stories all over the web and news about teens biting one another as if they were a vampire. Rob Pattinson was even joking about it on Dave Letterman.

Young people often take stories and movies for real life. Vampires and werewolves are mythical creatures, who do not exist, but some teenagers take it very seriously. Is Twilight too mature for teenagers and at what age should children be allowed to read the book and see the movies? If you were to go into a church, many would say never. The simple fact is that many skeptics believe Twilight is for adults, when we can separate fact from fiction.

Taking It Back To The Pages: Breaking Dawn Re-Read Chapter 23& 24

Bella: Chapter 23 Memories

"It only made it worse that Edward was having a difficult time keeping the smile off his face. I knew that Jacob didn’t deserve my overreaction, but Edward seemed to find something satisfying in it. Maybe he was just wishing that he had the excuse of being a newborn so that he could do something physical about his irritation with Jacob, too." - Bella Swan

So Bella has just officially opened a can of whoop ass on wolfie bestie, Jacob, and now she is instantly remorseful for actions. In the midst of lunging after Jake, Seth stepped in to save his Alpha from the crazed newborn vampire and ended up getting hurt himself. This is actually what upsets Bella the most. She was mad at Jake for imprinting on her daughter, but she should have contained herself.

She is instantly brought back in her head to how much Jacob has helped her and her family which is making being mad at him all the harder. She has also learned some new things about her best friend, the new Alpha in town. Jake and Sam can still communicate but instead of invading each other's minds at all times, they chose what they want the other to hear. Also Sam has accepted Renesmee because she is Jscob's after all.

The wold pack issue has been worked out, but what about Charlie? He has been calling and checking on Bella and it is killing her to lie to her father, but she has to keep him safe from her secret. Although she thinks after some time has passed she will be able to have Charlie in her life. At the thought of Charlie, her mood shifts and Jasper takes notice.

He assures her that no one is angry with her about what happened with Jacob and she tells him her distress over the Charlie issue and leaving Forks. She talks about how she will miss everyone so much...even Jacob and she actually has a chuckle to herself about the whole Jacob being her son-in-law issue.

As the family was all gathered, Carlisle speaks up and reminds everyone that it is time to measure Renesmee, She is growing at a very rapid rate and even for a supernatural being this couldn't be safe and Bella worries for her daughter's safety.

After the measuring, Renesmee wants her mommy and she places her hands on Bella's face to show her that she saw the scene between her and Jacob. She was very pleased that Seth stepped in to keep Jacob from getting hurt. Then she continues to give Bella a rundown of everything she has missed.

Jasper cannot bear the ultimate control Bella has as a brand new vampire. It makes him feel almost inadequate. He was counting on her taking his place as the weakest link. Carlisle and Edward begin to discuss if maybe ultimate control was Bella's gift. Bella was instantly disappointed that she had been blessed with such a BORING gift.

As Bella was holding her daughter...Renesmee falls asleep and Bella lifts her hand and starts to watch her dreams. She sat there holding her daughter watching her dreams when everyone gathers around her with smiling faces. And Alice chimes in and wishes Bella a Happy Birthday....a happy 19th birthday.

Chapter 24 Surprise

“I know—I’ll play you for it,” Alice suggested. “Rock, paper, scissors.” - Alice Cullen

It seems that even as a vampire Bella cannot escape the tortures of celebrating her human birthday. Even after her conversion, she is still adverse to gifts and sports cars and she knows Edward will be giving her an "after" car. Alice and Edward argue about who will be giving Bella's gift to her first.

Bella hands a sleeping Renesmee off to Rosalie and follows Alice outside. Bella, Edward, and Alice float through the forest when Alice quickly turns on her heels and jumps onto Bella's back covering her eyes. Bella feels the desire to throw her off but with her unbridled control, she resists.

When Alice finally releases her hands from Bella's eyes, she sees a beautiful stone cottage that looked as if it had grown in the forest and remained there just for her. It was beautifully decorated and fit Bella's personality perfectly. It was her happily ever after, but Alice of course it was just a chance to stock a brand new closet.

Once she showed the two around, Alice makes a quick exit. This was another part of their gift...alone time. Now Bella is finally getting a chance to enjoy her husband...vampire style. When Edward showed Bella their room she immediately notices that Esme has created Isle of Esme for the two of them to enjoy. It was perfect.

Bella cannot hold interest in her birthday gift any longer...not with Edward standing by anyway. She is so amazed that all of the emotion and desire she felt for him as a human hasn't disappear but intensified. She wants him more now than she has ever wanted anything. And then....

**************************************************************

Well we all know that vampire sex is WAY hotter than vampire/human sex. Of course once again Stephenie teases us with a brief...very brief...description as their first night together as a vampire couple. Luckily I have a VERY animated imagination. I have to keep in mind this book was intended for tweens and not adult women like myself. I am still protesting we get an R rated version for the adults. HA HA!

Awww poor Seth for catching the brunt end of Bella's temper...too bad it wasn't Jacob's face. That would have been interesting. Maybe if she hit him...this time should wouldn't break her hand. C'mon how excited would you be if your best friend imprinted on your newborn child? I'd kick his ass too....newborn temper or not.

Speaking of newborns, poor Jasper can't win for losing. He was counting on Bella to be the red-headed step child for a while to take some of the pressure off of him. But instead she has this stellar control and he just feels like a big fat loser. Poor guy. He should have expected it...Bella has never been on the normal end of the brain stick :) She has had so long to prepare for this and mentally psyche herself out. We still love you Jasper...even though all it takes is a tiny paper cut for you to go all Dracula on us :)

I am amazed at Stephenie's creativeness when it comes to Renesmee's gift. It is truly unique and how insanely cool would it be if it really existed! A lot of folks are disturbed by Renesmee's presence and for some it actually ruined the book for them. I find her fascinating and very entertaining. I have said it a million times...she is necessary to the story. She pulls it all together. Without her, everything would have remained the same. Vampires hating wolves and wolves hating vampires. Lines would have been etched in stone and there would be no "one big happy family."

Now let me change the route of this discussion...I am intrigued about these particular chapters and how Summit will manage to pull them off. For instance, sex between Edward and Bella cannot be just any sex...there MUST be clothes ripping and bodies thrown at full force. Mmmmm how will they get that correct with a PG-13 rating? And what about Renesmee? That is going to be the trickiest part of all. My one request...Don't screw it up! :)

Now its time for you to chime in. Were you disappointed at first that Bella didn't have some kind of gift similar to Edward and Alice? What do you think about the protectiveness Jacob obviously possesses over Renesmee? Make you gag or make you saw "awww" :) Did you feel a little sorry for Jasper that he is still the black sheep even though Bella is only days old? Now for the fun part...how do you feel Summit should handle showing hot vampire sex with the two most beautiful people on the planet? Do you think they have the acting chops to pull it off? (Seriously you know they get plenty of practice off-screen haha) Were you disappointed with the PG-13 rating...for obvious reasons. Will it screw the movie up?

Look forward to hearing your comments! <3

Another Reneesme Named

Say hello to Eliza Faria! She will be portraying a younger version of Reneesme in Breaking Dawn. Mackenzie Foy is still portraying Reneesme as she gets older. What do you think of the newest addition?

Rob's next leading lady? Keira Knightley, perhaps.

Happy Hump Day aka Wednesday to my Twi-Hearts!

News is spreading fast about our Robert Pattinson's next leading lady.

Rob has had the privilege of having worked with very notorious actresses this far in his career. From Kristen Stewart in the 'Twilight' series to Reese Witherspoon in 'Water for Elephants' and now, it seems, Keira Knightley in 'Cosmopolis'!

That's right, Twis. Looks like fellow Brit Keira Knightley, or the modern-day Lizzie Bennett as I call her, is set to share credits with our own Edward Cullen!

Earlier today, it had been listed on the 'Alfama Films Website' that Keira Knightley had been cast alongside Rob in the film ‘Cosmopolis.’ Marion Cottilard, previously having been linked to the part, announced just a week ago that she’s expecting her first child. Maybe Keira is set to fill in?

For now, it could be too early to tell. Despite the website's display earlier today. For when I went back to the site before sharing this news with you all, Keira's photo and name had been removed from the site. Temporary set back? Website glitch? Who knows.

We'll have to wait and see, Twi-Hearts! I'll have more updates for you as this story progresses. Besides all that, I'm not the only one to think that these two British Babes truly would look amazing together on screen. Both are good actors and embody roles well.

Questions? Comments? Editorials?

Rob Pattinson On The End of "Twilight"

The LA Times recently spoke to Rob and Bill Condon on the end of The Twilight Saga. Below is the article:

"Public speaking has never been Robert Pattinson’s favorite part of his job. But presenting the Golden Globe to director Susanne Bier for her drama “In a Better World” Sunday night proved to be a welcome respite for the actor, who’s knee deep in the middle of filming “Breaking Dawn,” the final installment of the “Twilight” saga, which will be split into two parts.

“It’s been really hard shooting both films at the same time,” admitted the 24-year-old star, moments before he had run backstage to present his award with “Tron” star Olivia Wilde. “But it’s the end of an era.”

That era certainly will be one that Summit Entertainment, the films’ distributor, not to mention the franchise’s devoted fans, will be sorry to see go. Starting with 2008’s “Twilight,” the fantasy romance that first saw Pattinson’s handsome, brooding vampire encounter his mortal love, Bella Swan (Kristen Stewart), the movie series has taken in roughly $1.8 billion at the worldwide box office, as audiences lined up to see Swan wrestle with her feelings for her immortal boyfriend and her best friend, Jacob (Taylor Lautner), a werewolf, over the course of the next two films, 2009's "The Twilight Saga: New Moon" and 2010's "The Twilight Saga: Eclipse."

At the start of the first part of “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn,” Bella consents to Edward’s marriage proposal — Edward’s condition if he is to grant Bella’s request that he transform her into a vampire — and the young couple are wed before heading to a remote island getaway for a honeymoon.

Speaking by phone this month, director Bill Condon, who’s helming both installments of the finale, said he has been thrilled with what he’s seen from his leads. “All the characters are moving [in this chapter]," he said. "It’s really about the passage from adolescence to adulthood, and they all seem energized by that. It’s the stuff they are all connecting to in their lives.”

As for Pattinson specifically, Condon added, “Now he’s dealing with a character who’s like him. The final movie allows us to step behind the curtain of what it’s like to be a vampire. It doesn’t seem that exotic anymore; It’s trying to be more real.”

The director, though, was reticent to share any details of the production, which is filming in both New Orleans and Vancouver, Canada, with a jaunt to an island off the coast of Brazil — a location that might in the end prove the most memorable to Condon, because the entire cast and crew needed for the honeymoon scene was stranded after a long day of filming.

“It was incredible. We got caught in the middle of this huge rainstorm — I’ll remember it forever,” Condon said. “Eighty people sleeping on the floor of the set. We couldn't leave.”

"It's The End Of An Era" Rob & Bill Condon Interview

The LA Times got an exclusive interview with Robert Pattinson and Bill Condon to get a little inside info on Breaking Dawn. Interviewers caught Rob for a quick second backstage at the Golden Globes to ask him his thoughts on Breaking Dawn coming to an end and how is shooting going.

“It’s been really hard shooting both films at the same time,” admitted the 24-year-old star, moments before he had run backstage to present his award with “Tron” star Olivia Wilde. “But it’s the end of an era.”

They also caught up with Bill Condon to catch his thoughts on the final installment of one of the most popular movies of all time. He was kinda mum on the details of production but did share how this movie is about growing from adolescent to an adult. Its about growth and moving to the next step in their lives. He also talked about filming in Brazil and the fun times they had with the rain.

“It was incredible. We got caught in the middle of this huge rainstorm — I’ll remember it forever,” Condon said. “Eighty people sleeping on the floor of the set. We couldn't leave.”

I remember hearing something about this rainstorm...but I am thinking Rob and Kristen were tucked away safely in their own places.

This is most likely one of the biggest films of 2011 and for 2012. Personally, I wish it could go on forever but realistically all good things must come to an end. I am very excited for everyone in this cast to see the opportunities this film opens up for them. What I am most anxious for is to see if someone like Kristen stays true to herself and keeps it up with the little films that she has been known for or if she would ever do another blockbuster like Twilight. We all know she has the acting ability to go far but will she? Taylor and Rob have already been making their way into Hollywood with big name films like Abduction and Water for Elephants. I look forward to following these guys for many years to come.

But really Stephenie ...you could do just one more book...they still have a little youth left in them *wink wink*

Peter Facinelli at 2011 Golden Globe Awards

So, we all know Rob did a great job at the awards last night, but what about our favorite family man, Peter Facinelli? Well, he was looking great with his Joseph Abboud Black Wool Suit and Calvin Klein tie. He even took some time out from the after party to talk about filming Breaking Dawn.

Peter admits that the cast has no free time while filming the movies: "What free time? We don’t have any free time on this one. This one has been a lot of long hours so at the end of the night we go home, close our eyes and then we’re right back in the makeup chair doing it all over again. It’s kind of felt like one long day with naps in between.”

On filming in Louisiana and Canada: “I do like working in Louisiana, I was there filming about ten years ago in New Orleans and it’s always fun. I wouldn’t say better or worse. We’re actually going to Vancouver at some point in production we will be shooting there as well. We hadn’t shot in Baton rouge yet so I think its exciting for us to be able to visit a new place and see some new scenery.”

Taking It Back to the Pages: Breaking Dawn Re-Read Chapter 21&22

Bella: Chapter 21 First Hunt

"We have all eternity, and you're worried about the time it would take to walk to the back door?" - Bella Swan

On this day Bella has just gotten her new vampire legs. She was overcome with how different everything looked, smelled, and sounded like. Everything had changed. Everything except for how she felt about Edward. She loved him more now than she could ever imagine.

To keep everyone from going insane Edward is taking Bella on her first hunt, even though he control is mind boggling. Bella had wanted to see Renesmee for the first time but Edward suggested since she has a heart beat and warm blood that Bella hunt just to insure the baby's safety. He tells her that the baby is with Jacob and Bella finds this confusing and a little worrisome but Edward vows that she is perfectly safe.

Alice had dressed Bella in a tightly fitted blue silk dress. She wasn't sure if she were going hunting or to a cocktail party. Edward shows Bella how to jump out of the window and she gracefully follows even though she is rocking a pair or stiletto heels. Dang Alice. After her landing she immediately takes the shoes off and chucks them back inside. Her and Edward start to run.

When they come to the river, Edward suggested that they would jump. Bella followed suit and when she went to run across her beautiful dress split right up the front. To make herself more comfortable she ripped the dress so that it fell right at the top of her thighs.

They start to run and running became just as much of an excitement for Bella as it had for Edward. The ground felt like velvet on her bare feet and she effortlessly flitted in between the trees, beautifully and gracefully. Edward actually had to stop her before she left the country.

Once they stop, Edward suggest she try something easier for the first time. There were some elk near by. She was tracking the elk when all the sudden the burn in her throat was unbearable, but then she felt as if she were being followed and her natural instinct to protect herself forced her to rip a fierce growl from her chest at Edward. She automatically felt remorse and told him she had to get away.

Edward was shocked at Bella's freakish amount of control. He couldn't believe she was able to stop mid-hunt and walk away. Bella immediately apologized for growling at him but explained she just held her breath to get away from the humans because they could have been someone she could have known. She felt horrible for even allowing herself to think about attacking another human. Edward chuckled a bit throwing Bella off guard and he explained that she was so rational for her age and she shouldn't be doing any of this. Even mature vampires had a hard time stopping mid hunt.

Edward places his hands on her face and she simply forgets the fact that she is dying of thirst...well until he brought it up. So she finds a mountain lion and actually makes quite a mess of herself on her first kill. Edward tells her he had a hard time watching her wrestle a mountain lion but that she done perfectly.

They move on to deer. Bella was overcome with joy and pride as she watched Edward gracefully hunt. She was full and now she wanted to see her baby. Edward reaches out to kiss her and she couldn't fathom all of the emotions she was feeling. She practically attacked him, tackling him to the ground during their kiss. She was caught in the moment until Edward reminded her about Renesmee. She needed to see her baby.

Chapter 22 Promised

“Huh. I can see what everyone’s been going on about. You stink, Jacob.” - Bella Swan

Renesmee. Bella wanted to know everything about her. Edward explained how she was warm blooded with a steady fast heart beat and how she kept Bella's brown eyes and his bronze hair. He also explains how she seems to have a vampire's skin and prefers blood over human food but that she is increasingly intelligent. He also explains that Renesmee has her own way of communicating but that it would be easier to show her rather than to tell her.

He tells her that Jacob has not left her side and Bella finds this unsettling because she knows how adverse Jacob was to the idea of her. Edward makes a comment about wanting to kill Jacob and Bella fussed at him and he explained that she would understand but he promised he wouldn't tell.

They take off running to the house and Bella is racing Edward and she takes a giant leap and lands on her feet and hears a thudding heart. It was Jacob. He wanted to test how she was around him before she was around the baby. Why was he so concerned? She passed with flying colors. Edward and Jacob exchanged a few choice words and Bella was so confused and Jacob told her her would explain later. Edward holds tight as Bella takes a whiff at Jacob. She instantly tells him that she gets what everyone was saying...he stinks.

When she went in to see the baby everyone was acting extremely defensive. Especially Jasper. He knew how newborns could be and he was very cautious of the much in control Bella. Edward explained that she deserved some credit. He explained how she stopped mid-hunt when she smelled the humans and how she ran away from it. Jasper was so confused by her ability to control her emotions so well he said it was unnatural.

She finally sees the baby. Renesmee wants Bella. When Bella cradled the baby into her arms Renesmee reached up and touched her face. Instantly Bella saw herself covered in sweat and blood, she looked horrible. Bella was amazed that the baby had shown her the only memory she had of her. She loved her baby.

Jacob was so uneasy at the fact that Bella was holding Renesmee. Bella finally put the pieces together and he realized that Jacob had imprinted on her child! She asked Rose to take the child so she could pounce on Jacob's head or imprinting on her child. She immediately blew up at him. He explained how he couldn't help it, that it just happened. She ordered him to stay away from her and he told her he just couldn't do that.

Jacob goes on to explain how it was Renesmee keeping them together during her pregnancy. She was the reason he couldn't leave Bella's side. Then Jacob made an epic mistake. He called the baby Nessie. Bella lost it at the fact that he just referred to her baby as something similar to the Loch Ness monster and she lunged at his throat.
*********************************************************************

Talk about insane! A grown man imprinting on a newborn...well I have officially seen it all. Man I cannot wait to see Kristen try to attack Taylor...this will be amazing. I cannot wait to see the brute strength in vampire Bella. Not just her physical but her mental strength as well. I am so happy that when Stephenie write this she didn't make Bella some crazed newborn because honestly that wouldn't be Bella. Bella is always in control of her emotions as a human and I think that is is fitting that it go over into her vampire life.

The magnified emotion between Edward and Bella will be WAY too much to handle. I mean how could those two possibly love each other anymore than they already do? Its almost delightfully painful to imagine the amount of love they have for each other. Most definitely one of the moments on film I cannot wait to see. I cannot wait to see the two of them as equals...maybe Bella even a little stronger than Edward.

The hunting trip was beautiful in its own way. For me it just brought everything together. Bella had always wondered what Edward looked like while he was hunting...it was like some weird fantasy has been lived out for her. And I even like the idea that Edward has a hard time watching her wrestle animals to the ground...I love when that aspect of their relationship doesn't change. Edward will always feel the need to protect her, even though she doesn't necessarily need it anymore.

The picture in my head of the two of them running and jumping together does bring me back to the bit from the New Moon movie where they were frolicking in the forest. Honestly, cheesy or not, that is how I pictured it. Its like something out of a fairy tale. Maybe a dark fairy take but this was Bella's version of a happily ever after and c'mon let's keep it real...who wouldn't want to spend an eternity with Edward (especially when he is played by the handsome Rob).

I have said it a billion times but I was so disturbed at first when Jake imprinted on the baby, but after reading again I get it. Renesmee is the glue that holds everything together and brings everyone in full circle. Her presence was necessary for Jacob to exist in Bella's world. I don't like the idea of Jake and Bella being together at all but I love the fact that she can have the man she loves and her best friend all at the same time. Seriously though, this is what Bella wanted. I mean maybe not under these certain conditions but this is what she wanted.

I am most looking forward to seeing Kristen playing a mommy and watching her hold this child for the first time. It will be such a beautiful thing. I also have to add that I am crazy over how smitten Edward is with her. He is so amazed by her and just in complete awe of this beautiful creature. We all know that won't be a hard role for Rob to play.

So a lot of interesting things happen in these two chapters. Lots to talk about! What do you think about Bella's abnormal control? Were you happy with that or did you picture her being a blood crazed newborn? Are you looking forward to seeing her attack Jake onscreen? What about your feelings about him imprinting...I know most of you think its weird but do you think it was necessary to keep Jake in Bella's life? What do you think about Renesmee's gift? How well do you think Summit will do when trying to pull this baby thing off? Anything else you want to add...comment below and let's get the discussion going!

Kristen Stewart on Vogue

Kristen looks absolutely beautiful on the cover of Vogue Magazine. Below are some quotes from her interview, thanks to "Twilight Today," for the info and picture.

“I choose things that are so overly ambitious,” Kristen tells Vogue. And the actress has chosen well! She’s skyrocketed to success with The Twilight Saga but has maintained her humble beauty without a trace of ego.
Bill Condon, the director of Breaking Dawn, reveals to the mag that, “Kristen was the top of my list of reasons to do this movie.”
Here are some other highlights from Kristen’s interview:
* On finding a good part:  ”A compulsion absolutely fills you”
* On returning to the Twilight set: “[It was] like going back to school… Twilight is a different beast.”
* On getting into acting: ”I don’t think I would ever have been able to be an actress had I not started at nine years old. I would have been the last person to stand up and say, ‘I’d like to star in the play.”
* On trusting her friends: ”You build a perimeter of people that are really important to you.”
* On her privacy: ”There’s no way to eloquently put this. I just can’t go to the mall. It bothers me that I can’t be outside very often. And also to not ever be ’some girl’ again. Just being some chick at some place, that’s gone.”
* On why she stays mum about her relationship with Robert Pattinson: ”It’s not my job.”

Rob Pattinson: "Where's My Daughter?"

I found this from the Robsessed Blog. Apparently, Rob likes to go around on the Breaking Dawn set and ask, "Where's my daughter?"  Of course, he is saying this in reference to Mackenzie:

"As you already know, the last chapter of the Twilight saga: Breaking Dawn is being filmed in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. The cast is expected to move to Vancouver, Canada in February to end with the shooting of both movies(Breaking Dawn part I & Breaking Dawn part II).

Yes, they’re filming BD part I and part II at the same time.

“They shoot the battle, then it’s the end, then another love scene. And that’s how it goes. Part I, part II. Part I, part II. Only interiors, though” Says our On-Set source.

We’re guessing they’re shooting both films at the same time to avoid any kind of problems with their ages/look. But our source says

“It’s also a post-production matter. It’ll be easier for them to edit the whole thing at the same time “

About the cast: “They’re having a great time on set. They’re not only working, but having fun with friends. Lots of private parties, movies and jokes. ““It’s like a huge family.

Robert walks on set like ‘Where’s my daughter?’ (referring to Mackenzie). He’s really funny”

What's Your Favorite Twilight Related Fanfic?

We all discuss quite frequently about how badly we would love for Stephenie to write us another book about our favorite Twilight characters but in the mean time some of us turn to our favorite fanfics. I have never really gotten into reading the fanfics until here recently. Some of them are such a joy to read and fill that need for more Twilight! A lot of these writers are extremely talented and I have found myself getting just as hooked as I did when I read Twilight the first time.

So my question is to all of our readers...what's your favorite fanfic? So far out of the few I have read my favorite two are Emancipation Proclamation and Master of the Universe. I loved The Plan but was completely heart broken when she ended it so quickly. I want to know what you read to get your Twilight fix...I mean really, how many times can you read the series before the binding starts to come apart (yes, my Breaking Dawn cover is almost detached.)

It can be any fanfic you like about any of the Twilight characters. I prefer Edward and Bella fanfics but I am utterly biased (sorry Jacob fans). Comment below and give us some ideas!

Cullen. Eduardo Cullen. WHO?

Hi Twi-hearts!

I think I may be about a week or so late on reporting this one, but I just figured out the riddle myself.

Just WHO is 'Eduardo' Cullen?

He was trending on Twitter shy of New Year's Eve and since then I have been on a mission.

Apparently this can be traced back to Twitter users tweeting about the Spanish language version of 'Twilight' in which our Edward Cullen has been renamed "Eduardo Cullen." Aha! That was it...right? Apparently not.

So, of course then I called my family in Guatemala and asked if the Spanish dub of 'Twilight' there had changed Edward to Eduardo...My answer? No. So, I expanded my question--"WHO and WHERE is Eduardo Cullen?".

Further sleuthing lead me to many of my Twi-hearts on Twitter to lend me a hand. Finally, I think I found my answer...Eduardo Cullen is the Brazilian Twilight dub name for our Edward Cullen. Yes, the land of CARNAVAL gave our Edward his Spanish persona of Eduardo.

One of my favorite Twitter tweets on this trending topic was as follows: "I picture Eduardo Cullen as Edward's more interesting and roguish Spanish twin. He has a very thin mustache and wears a matador outfit."

Feedback on this, Twi-hearts? Did YOU see #EduardoCullen on your Twitter timeline?

Mama Cullen With the Fans!

Elizabeth Reaser is in Baton Rouge with the rest of the Breaking Dawn cast for filming. She took some time out to snap a quick pic with fans. WOW she sure has come a long way from the crazy chic on Grey's Anatomy! Twilight will do wonders for her career. She is such a great Esme. I wish all of the cast (ahem, Rob & Kris) hung out more like they used to, but hey as a Twi-hard we love all we can get!

Taking It Back to the Pages: Breaking Dawn Re-Read Chapter 19&20

Bella: Chapter 19 Burning

"Reality was red, and it felt like I was being sawed in half, hit by a bus, punched by
a prize fighter, trampled by bulls, and submerged in acid, all at the same time." - Bella Swan

Breaking Dawn takes a turn from Jake's POV and goes back to Bella's. This time Bella is writhing in pain. The change is happening. Edward had to inject Bella with his venom to save her from the traumatic birth of Renesmee.

The pain is almost too much for her to bear. This change is ripping her apart and burning her alive. She is aware of what is going on around her but doesn't dare make a sound for fear of worrying Edward more than she knows he already is. She can hear the voices around her when Renesmee is born and she cannot understand why everyone is keeping her away.

She sees the baby and notices her skin is warm and her eyes are chocolate brown, just like hers and her cheeks were flush with pink. How could this be a vampire baby? Before Bella can actually get a chance to enjoy the baby someone is ripping her out of her arms. She doesn't understand why.

The pain is becoming so much for her to sustain. The blackness is trying to take over her but she knows if she allows it to and gives up she will be hurting everyone. She has so much to live for. First there is Edward...she knows if she gives up and doesn't make it, he will not make it. One goes, they both go. Life doesn't exist for one without the other.

Then there is Jacob. He has stuck with Bella through all of this craziness and she allowed him too...even begged for him too. She has put him through so much and she couldn't repay him by just throwing in the towel. She owed him more than that. She couldn't give up.

Even more important there is Renesmee. Bella is a mother now and what mother just admits defeat and leaves her baby girl? Everyone was counting on Bella to live and she was going to have to be strong and make it through this. Everything leading up to this moment has been such a struggle and Bella knows that it wasn't for nothing. There is something bigger in store for her and this wasn't the end.

The pain begins to subside a slight bit but the fire is still raging through her body. She is becoming more aware of the sounds around her. She can hear Edward and Carlisle speaking and she hears the worry in Edward's voice, afraid he has done something wrong. She wills herself to keep still and quiet to ease his worry. All the while Edward is worried because she isn't reacting as she should be during the transformation.

She begins to count Edward's breaths to make the waiting and burning easier. She hears Edward consulting with Alice about the transformation and when and how it will turn out. Its so frustrating for Bella because she isn't even getting answers. How much longer will this go on? Her heart begins to race and burn and her throat is too dry....the change is almost over.

Finally, her heart stops. There is no sound. No one's breathing, not even her own. Then she wakes up to through new eyes.

Chapter 20 New

"How many times had I stared at Edward and marveled over his beauty? How
many hours—days, weeks—of my life had I spent dreaming about what I then deemed to be perfection? I thought I’d known his face better than my own. I’d thought this was the one sure physical thing in my whole world: the flawlessness of Edward’s face." - Bella Swan

The change is over. Bella Swan, or Cullen actually, has finally gotten her wish. She is a vampire and will join her loving husband in forever. All of the pain and burning has brought her into this new life.

Everything is so much clearer. She can see things she has never seen before, in such detail. Even the smells are magnified. She can smell everything around her. She stands and looks around just adjusting to her new super human senses when she feels a touch.

It was a touch that had her instinctively react in a defensive manner. This wasn't a touch she had felt before. It was Edward. She instantly felt remorse for reacting as she did but then realizes that Edward doesn't feel the same since they are both vampires. He is no longer cold to the touch. His touch is velvet smooth and normal temperature to Bella.

She regains her composure and looks at Edward. She is seeing him for the first time. She has looked at Edward millions of times but she is seeing his real beauty for the first time. He is perfect. When Edward speaks, he tells Bella everything is alright. Instantly all of the extra space in her brain makes her begin to wonder about just that, EVERYTHING!

Edward grazes his hand across Bella's cheek and all of the want and desire she felt as a human was still there. She was so confused because she was positive this feeling would go away once she was a vampire. She wraps her arms around him and hugs him...even hurting him a little. She doesn't know her strength.

At that moment she knows she has to focus and control all of these raging emotions she is having so she doesn't hurt anyone. Edward begins to kiss Bella and this kiss wasn't like the others. Instead of his his lips molding around hers....she held her own. The kiss was fierce and like nothing she had ever experienced.

Everyone, especially Carlisle, is so amazed by Bella's immense control. Carlisle immediately begins prodding her with question after question trying to figure out what is making her transformation so much different. He realizes that she must be dying of thirst and the moment he mentions it...Bella begins to feel the fire in her throat that she had pushed aside.

Instantly she begins to think about her baby. She wants to see her. She insists that she gets to see Renesmee and Edward explains that they should wait. She doesn't understand. Why is everyone keeping her from her child? Edward then explains that Renesmee possesses both human and vampire qualities and it would be in the best interest of the child's safety for Bella to hunt first so her control would be more intact.

Bella's mind flutters to all different subjects, putting her thirst on the back burner once again. Edward convinces Bella that they have all of the time in the world to figure things out and encourages her to go on her first hunt. Just as they were leaving Alice stops them. She insists that Bella look at her new self.

As Alice runs off to get a mirror for Bella, Bella realizes how guarded Jasper is. Then it dawns on her the real danger is herself. Before she has time to feel bad about the fact everyone is expecting her to go insane...Alice returns with a mirror and Bella sees herself for the first time.

She is so beautifully and she hardly recognizes herself. She looks so graceful and perfect. Once she sees her bright red eyes she is startled. Edward assures her that once she partakes in the vegetarian diet that the red with go away turning her eyes the same amber color as his.

Everyone is in awe over how controlled Bella is, especially Jasper. It worries him. Edward is as frustrated as ever because even though Bella is more like him...he still cannot hear her thoughts. They share a moment and Jasper becomes more anxious every second. So Bella puts Jasper out of his misery and decides to go with Edward on her first hunt.
***************************************************************************

Holy Batman! Bella is a vampire finally. This for me happened WAY too late in the book but I was so happy that she can finally be with Edward. Stephenie did such an amazing job describing Bella's transformation. I felt every second of her suffering. WOW what suffering she went through. I am so glad it was a very action packed change because I hadn't pictured it that way.

When I figured out that Bella would eventually become a vampire...I knew it would be a smooth transition for her because she had prepared so much for it. I was sop happy to see how much control she had over herself. I wasn't really looking forward to her being a blood-crazed newborn. It was almost expected though because Bella was so controlled in her human life. She was beyond her years and never reacted the way everyone expected her too.

Poor Edward. He always thinking so negatively of himself. He just knew he did something wrong. Sometimes I hate it for him because she is the one person's thoughts he cannot hear, Gosh it was so sacrificing for her to push through the pain and keep herself quiet just to protect him. Ha ha I was so frustrated for her...hearing things going on but not having any idea what was happening with herself.

This part of the story reminds me why I love Bella so much. Here she is burning alive and absolutely miserable and all she can think about is everyone else. All she can do is think about how its effecting everyone else. She has made some pretty crappy decisions but none the less she loves everyone in her life and she has had good intentions all along. Her compassion and love for everyone in this story just leaps right off the page.

Oh and the hotness that is Bella! Oh my goodness I cannot wait to see Kristen Stewart vamped up. I do not know how it will be possible to make her too much more beautiful than she already is but I cannot wait to see the hotness that she brings as a vamp. This will be a HUGE thing for Kristen. She will have to shed her usual awkwardness and be graceful and collected. While she was playing a human...it worked because we all know Bella was a bit awkward in her own way as a human, but as a vampire she will have to be sheer bad ass. Vampire Bella is not about stumbling and mumbling she is about utter perfection.

This is probably the most anticipated part of the story for me. It brings everything in full circle. And the relationship with Edward...oh dear lord I cannot even begin to explain the excitement I have when I think about the two of them as being equals. No more walking on eggshells for Bella's safety...she can hold her own. Not only will their physical relationship be changed but emotionally its so much stronger. Everything is intensified. Phew I do not know about you guys but seriously I do not know how much Rob and Kris intensity I can take! :)

This is where it gets good guys...the story is getting so awesome so let's get the discussion going! What do you think about Bella's transformation...was it adequately described? What part are you most looking forward to seeing onscreen? What about Jasper being so guarded with Bella? Should he back off a bit or is he just being cautious? After all the preparation she has had should he give her the benefit of the doubt? Were you disappointed when Edward still couldn't hear Bella's thoughts? What are your thoughts on the new and improved Edward and Bella relationship? What about her physical looks? Do you think Summit can pull this off? What about Kristen...do you think she will make a bad ass vamp? Get it going!
